Beautiful water-color quilt! Knowing how much work that took, I'm amazed someone would toss it! It would have made a pretty doll quilt for a lucky little girl!

I rescue unwanted quilts, too. It's a shame to see so much hard work go into something and then someone just cast it aside.

I found this hand embroidered and hand quilted baby quilt at Goodwill for $3 and rescued it! Somebody's poor grandma was rolling over in her grave at the thought of her handiwork being treated so unkindly until I bought it and brought it home. It now resides alongside my own quilts...happy, safe and used and loved by my grandchildren.
I've made my grand daughter 5 baby quilts & they never used one of them. When they found out they were pregnant my son asked me "Mom are you going to make our baby a quilt" & I told him "I said "NO I'm going to make her s 6 pack" Well she will get #6 when she gets married!

Could be the quilter herself wasn't happy with her work and gave it away. Too bad. All quilts are beautiful and deserve to be rescued. I'm glad when I hear about rescued pieces.

When I look at that little quilt I see a heart and it breaks mine to think that someone would just abandon it. Love it and share it with anyone who comes into your home by displaying it proudly. I'm glad you found it. patti

So glad you're enjoying it. It may not have been discarded by a recipient. I found this block in a sack of scraps and unfinished blocks sold by the maker. I didn't even find it till I got home. In the bag I bought from her, I found an unfinished, partially hand quilted lap quilt, this finished block and 16 other various orphan blocks for $5. I'm working on making something with all of them. I already made some table runners as gifts. I love this little gem; it's only about 15" sq. It looks great in my sewing room.

I think if you will turn it off point, it is a heart. Not sure though. Might just be my poor old eyes and the distance from the camera
