Default Tie-dyed Quilt for my Niece

I dye a lot of textiles, mostly silk scarves and tee shirts, but some friends asked for some bright custom dyes for a 5" charm swap we were doing. I dyed up a bunch of bright cotton and my 19 year old niece came through as I was cutting it up and fell in love. I used the extra and made her this quilt for her first real apartment (she's in college.) There's no particular pattern, I just cut 6 1/2" blocks and sashed them. The black really made things pop.

I used fiber-reactive dyes and kona cotton.

@rusty quilter...sounds like we're about the same age. I tie dyed back then too...Mom came home one afternoon and found me tie dyeing my bedspread and curtains...I didn't know the curtains weren't washable (that old fiberglassy stuff) they fell apart in the washer...she was NOT impressed!

I'm just an old hippie at heart....
