[quote=susiequilt]I popped into the library to check out the Fons and Porter book and I just want to say that I am even more impressed with what you made. If I had just flipped through the book I would have passed their fancy fans right on by. They seriously need your picture in the book! I wasn't impressed with theirs at all.
And while I was out I just happened to get into a few thrift shops!
From three shops I grabbed 91 ties for $19.80. average .22 cents each! :D
When I die my kids will wonder why Mom was collecting mens ties!
Wow, you got a bargain! Here in our thrift stores the ties are usually $1 each up to 2.50. I did get some one day that were "buy one get one free. I got some from freecycle one time and I've been washing them and ironing them and putting them away. Just couldn't decide on a good pattern. You did a fantastic job with yours. Thanks for the picture.

I have access to 25,000 to 30,000 ties. Yes believe it or not. My BIL buys and sells all the time. He called me last year and asked what I could do with that many ties. I just laughed at him. He wanted me to make quilts and sell them.......split profits and such. He still has them. I'll get a price if anyone is interested.
