Absolutely beautiful! My hubby probably have that many ties! Still wears about half! I don't think I could make them into that beauty! Won't even try! You are talented!

This quilt is stunning. I am so glad you made this beautiful quilt for your friend whose husband passed. She will cherish having his ties in a quilt. A lady friend gave me her husband that has passed his ties. I have 40 of them. I would love to know if I can just use the ties as they are or have to wash them to keep them from fading. Any suggestions? Thank you for posting this.

I suggest you wash them..on gentle, cold water,in your machine. Ties have neck sweat, lunch leftovers etc. on them, you know...

Beautiful! I think one of the prettiest tie quilts I've seen!

I think the blocks were 12" before seams. Yes, I lined each applique piece, turned them inside-out and then stitched them onto the white fabric with a decorative zig-zag-type stitch. Enjoyed making this. This was my first applique quilt.

Nice job!!! I've got a box full of old ties that I need to do something with. I really like the fan.
