I have made quilts for babies, I always make a design that will last for a long time into their teens, they are babies for such a short time and while they "grow out" of a particular quilt designed for a baby as lovely as the quilts are. I consider with all the effort it is best to make something that will be used for many years.

It's beautiful, and believe me, the baby will never know the difference. They don't care what they're cuddled in, as long as they're cuddled.

I always make baby quilts that will look alright and not babyish when the child is 10--15 years old where they are embarrassed to show their friends, I think that your quilt fits that bill. so to me NO it is not too grown up. The child will love it no matter what.

It's gorgeous and appropriate.

A quilt for a baby doesn't have to be made out of "babyish" fabric. Yours is perfect.

I love it...I made my 3, 2 girls and 1 boy "baby" quilts, but I didn't use babish fabric....I wanted them to be able to use it as they grew up...so stick with what you have ...

It's very beautiful and I think it's perfect for a baby / little girl / young lady into adult.
