I actually think it is perfect for a boy. He can snuggle with that for a long time to come. If it had been babyish, he might not be able to enjoy it as long. I say give it. Even if the adults aren't wild about it, I am sure that it will be his favorite for a long time to come.

I think you should give it as planned. I made 1 yrs back and 1 turned into 2. They had twin boys. So back to the sewing machine. They were not pretty by any means, but those 2 quilts were perfect for those 2 little boys. I know this to be true because later I went to visit. they each ,about 6yrs old, had only a row or so left. Mom said they had loved them from the beginning and could not part with them even if they were falling apart. They had just loved them to pieces. Give it from just your heart, the way you made it.
