Here's the 9 patch and snowball layout I like, either a two fabric quilt or a scrappy quilt looks great.
I prefer to make my 9 patch blocks 9 1/2", using 3 1/2" squares and also 3 1/2" squares in the corners of the snowballs, quilt goes together rather quickly.

The layout is very deceiving with how the finished quilt looks, I would never think to make it just looking at the layout, but your quilt is amazing. I keep looking at the quilt and still cant see the same as the layout pic.
