Top finished this week with x-block ruler.

Last week I was lucky enough to get out to an actual quilt store (we have none around here) about 1 1/2 hours away as I had to pick up a part for my sick machine. I splurged and bought the x- block ruler and the twister ruler. Here is my first top made with the x-block. It is more modern looking than I usually make but I think I like it. Now, I'm going to fiqure a way to use this with my scraps. BTW the bottom looks darker because there is a couch behind it.

I love it. I have one made but doesn't have borders yet, but I love those bright colors, might have to go in stash and make another.

I love the colors. Yes, it does look like stained glass. I just got the large Twister ruler. Haven't started anything with it yet.

Isn't it fun to go to a quilt shop and just browse? Your quilt is beautiful.

Jeanann, since you were able to finish the top in a week the ruler was easy to learn to use and put the blocks together? I really like the colors that you put together. I think a scrappy quilt would look really nice.

I've had the ruler for a couple of years now and haven't done a thing with it, yet you buy the ruler and within a couple of days have an entire beautiful top done. I will hide my head in shame.
A fabric stash is always missing that one fabric needed to finish the quilt on which you're working.

The x-blocks is a fun and easy tool to use. No waste when used. The inventor Patricia Pepe is a friend and is forever coming out with new variations. She is so creative and has fantastic color sense. You can see more on her web site-Quilt Queen Designs. Have a look and play around
