Every quilt has a story and I enjoyed reading about yours. It was worth the wait for you to complete your gd quilt, as you gained so much wisdom on how to quilt it...fabulous quilting designs. I love love love the rose label and how you printed on the stem.
Thank you so much for sharing your quilt story. Your Gd is going to be over joyed to see it!

The dedication on the stem looks printed but it is actually embroidered. At first I used a script fancy font in purple thread but it looked too Victorian and the quilt has more of a contemporary modern look so I opted to redo w a close to a typewriter font in black thread.
the way I did it is cut (on the bias”) a 3” wide strip of fabric, placed stabilizer on the hoop and floated the strip to embroider it in 2 continues parts till I fit in the text.
I then trimmed it to the width of the stem w text centered and placed a wonder under 1/4” strip to help temporarily placing it. The bias cut allowed it to easily curve the stem.
