This is my I spy quilt that I made doing a swap here to get enough squares to make it.. It was my first time doing a swap and it was a lot of fun getting all the fabric, just like opening a present at Christmas..Thank you Cindy for doing it...

this quilt is for my 3 year old grandson, I added some pictures of his family so he could find them too. I thought it would be fun for him.

This is a quilt as you go quilt & it was pretty easy to make
Thanks for looking Carol

Sharon B...I had a book and also watched some video's on you tube...

ok I'll try to give you a quck lesson..LOL

Square up your block after you quilted it, in my case it was a 9 patch. cut your sashing, vertical sash strip front is 2 inches, vertical back is 1 1/4 inches..fold front sash strip, the [2 inch] in half lengthwise and iron.
The top and the back sashing strips are pinned to the block at the same time, across the side of block, raw edges to raw edges. the back strip 11/4 inch is on the back and the front strip [2 inch folded in half and ironed,] on top of the block with your block in the middle and raw edges together. sew 1/4 inch seam. Bring the back sashing up [I iron it so it stays.] when you look at the block you will see the top sashing folded down sewed with the raw edges together 1/4 seam and the back fliped up and iron so you see some of the back sashing.. next take the block that you want to join together and put it back to backs even with the edge of the back sashing, that you had fliped up and ironed. now sew 1/4 seam across the back sashing strip, and the block you are joining [careful that you don't catch the seam of the first block.]. flip the block up so it is stright across your first block and joined, fold the top sashing over the open seam and stitch down. You can use a decorative stitch here or stright a stitch..

Boy... I hope I didn't mix you up to much. I'm not very good giving directions...hope this helped if not look up one of the videos on you tube.. good luck....

:-D
