Well I'm glad your daughter came to her senses!
That first one is fabulous. Love those narrow dark strips every now and then. And piano keys around the edge.
Your daughter is also clever to think of the signature quilt for the wedding. What a treasure that will be!

The block arrangement on the wedding quilt is so appealing!

I like the graduation quilt also. Is that QAYG where the narrow black sashing is?

No, just really narrow sashing. This was quilt was very MIUAYG (make it up as you go!). When I got all the blocks done, I decided I needed something to break up the endless sea of tiny patches, but nothing too regular, hence the narrow black bands. They're just enough to stop the eye, but don't draw too much attention.

What a nice story. Thanks for posting it. My 21 yo son recently said "you've made quilts for everybody else. How come I never got one?" Didn't ever think he'd want one.
