Go for it AnnaK. I had 9 blocks for a Card Trick that seemed to take forever. I only had 3 or 4 blocks worth of hand quilting to go and got tired of it. So happy I managed to get it done in the last challenge.

Gayle, I love the pictures you posted. I have a couple of questions. Did you have a pattern for the Johnny-Jump-Up - I would love to know how to do that. On the quilt that has the blue scrap pieces in each block - how are those attached or are they attached? It really adds to the blocks themselves. Great work!

GailG, the sashing fabric is a small green print that kind of goes with some of the flowers. I am going to have the quilter mimic some of the block designs on the blank setting triangles. No more applique for me! Thanks for the encouragement. I need it. It's going to be a big quilt.

    Thank you
The Johnny Jump Up quilt is foundation pieced on muslin. The pattern was more of a look at and then place the first foundation piece but then you just add as you go. It would not be hard to come up with something similar on your own.
The quilt with the little blue pieces are blocks that are attached in rows with just thread. The blue pieces are painters tape I mark the block with so I can keep them in the quilt where they are supposed to be as I sew it together. It is not a completed top waiting to be sandwiched and then quilted.

this is terrific (i never have the nerve to applique) and would look gorgeous on point. with whatever sashing you were planning to use, and solids in between, it will come out pretty large. if you put them with dark colors, that light, bright fabric will just jump off the quilt. :P

Well, I just finished my IRR quilt and mailed it a week ago and then I took my sil's Kitty quilt to the quilter last week as well, but these were actually for the last challenge. I still have my nephews Stack-n-Whack that needs a couple seams repaired and then it will be the next one to the quilter, it will be his Christmas present this year for sure so that one will be before New Year.
I still have 2 others that are started I need to work on, but we will be going to Hawaii for my niece's wedding Thanksgiving, so I will be working on her gifts before these, so they will probably be after the 1st of the year, but oh well, I did get 2 UFO's done this summer so that is progress right....lol
Ofcourse I also already have 2 BOM's and a Red/White and Black planned for next year also, so who knows when I might get back to the UFO's again!!
