I have seen worse a lot worse and the fact that I don't think it's ugly at all it just has a primitive look to it.

I too thought of the prairie days, its more like what people with little used to make all the time. It is not bad at all and would look great in a log cabin type setting. Sometimes we are our harshest judges I think.

Have we all forgotten what quilting was all about???? Those pioneer women just stitched what was to hand at the time! They didn't fret about colours clashing or matching! They didn't have all the gizmos either! All done by eye and by candlelight!!! Perhaps we need to go back to basics sometimes! Simple can be beautiful too!! Nothing is ugly-different yes!! All are great quilts! Get them finished!!! I think we are all too obsessed with the Quilt Police!! :

These are all nice.
Back in my early days of quilting I made a red, white, & blue quilt that was not really ugly but very hard on the eyes. It was for the Veteran's Nursing home. The man who picked it loved it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
At the guild meeting the ladies in the back of the room thought it was great.

Here is my ugly quilt. I call it the 20 Year Quilt. I started it in 1984, put it away for years & finished it it 2004. All the blocks (triangles no less!) are cut with scissors with 1/2" seams pressed open. I backed it in flannel & turned the backing to the front. It now resides in our camper & I have to say , it is one warm, ugly quilt!

Nancy,
They are all being kind to you. Not me. I think it's ugly. What can I say? Sorry, for being brutal, but you start it...........

Finish it up and donate to a children's hospital. Someone would love to wrap up in it.

As quilters we are privileged to be able to quilt beautiful quilts and we seem to expect that all of our quilts will meet beauty standards. If fabric was in really short supply, these so called "ugly" quilts would quickly become beautiful in our eyes. If you don't like your quilt, finish it and donate it. Someone will fall in love with it, if not for its beauty then for its warmth. I think many guys would love that quilt especially if you put a real guy's flannel on the back.
