I love it! I don't know about red but it might be OK. I am pretty sure I would like a vibrant gold. froggyintexas

My thoughts exactly!

I looked and looked in my stash no red. The border is like a weird blah purple. I am going to pull a few colors from my stash and see what you guys think. The little plain blocks are gray, with the dark colors around the they look very different than when I have used that same fabric with a quilt with bright colors. the Blah quilt top matches the Blah weather. Thank-you for all of the suggestions. It really helps with thinking outside the box.

I like the turquiose addition that Grace Creates suggested. Play around with colors.....in the end if you really do not like it or think it is really ugly, you can always donate it to a nursing home. Put I do not think it is ugly at all.

That's purple?!? Looks like a brownish color my tablet. That makes me change my mind about using red. Please do post some samples of your stash.

Just think, you've got most of the quilt done. now all you need is the exciting part. weather hopefully not too exciting to go with it. If you don't have anything you like carry some swatches in your purse so if you're out and about and find something, you'll know right a way if it will work.

I would use red and/or gold cornerstones, as a part of sawtooth stars. a little more brightness will make this a fine quilt.

If not red, perhaps something in the gold.... it's really NOT ugly, just a bit of a wallflower, and needs a little spark to bring it to life!!!
