    Well, I have to say, I agree about the ruffle. I'd take it off, myself. But I like the rest of it and don't think the prints are overkill.

    I think the fabric you used is great! It will really catch your eye under the tree. As far as the backing, it looks like you will need to piece it to fit. I have made many and just lay right sides together, sew and trim backing after. Hope it works out for you and Merry Christmas.
