    Under the sea finished

Well...it's finished - the under the sea quilt for my DS and DDIL's first baby - ETA 3 weeks - we don't know if it's a boy or girl - so the suspense is killing me. Have already booked my ticket to go see them in May. This was a big challenge to myself - designed it and hand appliqued all. I don't FMQ so echo stitched around everything...and did a few squigglies in the "water". Thanks for looking.Name: under the sea quilt1.jpg

It's lovely and so colorful...boy or girl, the baby will love it! Great design and wonderful applique!
A quilt is like a good life. It's full of mistakes, but, in the end, it looks pretty good.

You did a wonderful job on this quilt. You should be proud of yourself for stretching out and doing something new. Congratulations on the new baby.

Thanks for the nice words..here are the closeups. And the eyes are painted with craft paint - then heat sealed with an iron.

May I ask if this is a purchaseable (is that even a word?) pattern or is it your own design?
It's just beautiful; I've never seen a more detailed one. Love it!

This is an amazing quilt! My son has aquariums all over his apartment. This would be an ideal pattern to use when.....someday....he meets the right girl and marries and has a family. Thanks for sharing!
