We don't have minkee available at any fabric stores near me that I know of, so I bought the minkee throws after Christmas for $2.50 each. They are 50 X 60 and I got blue, green, red and a print.

When I use minkee I keep a couple of Lint Rollers by my cutting mat. Your quilt is a work of art.

Those fabrics like minkee are messy to cut. I made my grandaughter a quilt from something similar a few years ago and I just cut it into square blocks about 5" square, maybe 6". I used several colors. Backed it with flannel so didn't use batting in it and tied it.
The less you cut on those fabrics the easier it is I think. But your quilt is going to be pretty. Good luck with the rest of it!

I have made several minkee quilts....I always keep my vacuum close by and suck up the mess as I go....I have never cut the pieces as small as yours. I usually just do strips and do a quilt as you go. I cannot imagine the mess with such small pieces!!

Good Luck it looks beautiful so far!!!

I never used minkee, either. Looks like a lot of vacuum time. The new baby will enjoy it, either way.
