Quiltmakers: Why do we assume that everyone will fall over with glee when they recieve a quilt? I have friends who do some wonderful crafts and ceramics and I know the amount of effort is in their work, but I don"t want them! They don't want my quilts either. To each his own.

Something very similar happened with my step-daughter. She knew I had made quilts for her nieces and nephews so rather than NOT make her a baby quilt and be fussed at by my husband, I made her one. She didn't even take it completely out of the bag at the shower! I just let it go knowing that she couldn't say I'd never given her a baby quilt. AND I wrote baby's name in permanent ink on the back so she couldn't rip off label to give it to someone else!!
Glad your pretty quilt found a loving home!!
