Sadly alot of folks have no idea what goes into making a quilt and do not appreciate the love and thought that went into it for them. Your quilt was beautiful and its too bad the first girl had no clue what she was receiving. I am so glad your quilt found a loving home.

When my 6 year old son was born my mom found 3 very cute quilts but very bright primary quilts at a garage sale. At first I didn't like them for the brightness of them, (I did not let my Mom know at the time) but now that he has out grown them I miss them so much. He loved them so much he would carry them around like little Linus. For that I was very grateful that I had 3 of them. One was kept at day care, 2nd was for night-night the other in wash or available in case of one of the others needed cleaning. I am quite flabbergasted at the rudeness and ungratefulness of my generation and the ones following. I am glad your quilt that is just darling went to someone that does appreciate the love and time that was but into it.

P.S. My mother and I can laugh about the quilts now.

Good for you!! I cannot believe people would be so rude when given something as nice as homemade quilt. I would have ask for the wedding quilt back too, I think! Thankfully the person you ended up giving it to was thrilled to have it! Her gain and the other gal's loss!!

Too bad you can't get the wedding quilt back from her, as well...

The quilt is sweet as can be. Regardless of not comprehending how much effort and time goes into making something like that, she should have shown some manners and appreciation for what she received. I'm so happy the quilt found a "new home".

That is one beautiful quilt and at least now it is in a home where it will be used!

What a lovely story (and quilt). Good for you to have the courage to ask for the quilt back! Now it will get the love and use that it deserves!

Oh wow! I wouldn't know what to do if someone gave me a homemade quilt..but at least she was honest and the quilt found its rightful home. I have a niece that is like that.

Its always sad when you make something in love and some people can't see past a price tag or name brand label to see that.
