I have a few antique quilts that I need to quilt.....quilting is such a bear..I find that all over stipple is the best because we can maneuver around things and cause less damage.....
Yes, I did an overall meandering on it. I made sure to cross each hex piece at least once and sometimes twice to make sure this quilt holds together since it was all hand pieced. And I agree about quilting old tops - they are certainly a challenge! I've quilted some of the wonkiest quilts you would not believe!! :D
Yeah I remember that polyester one you got....I didn't envy that one. LOL Although I have had my share...we get many from the shop....I try to let someone else take them. LOL

It's a good skill to develop..that's what I tell myself. well it looks great..you did a wonderful job. I just wanted to know because you seem to get many of these ...so you are the expert!

How could she not like it, it's a beautiful heirloom quilt and you did a great job. I think you were smart to applique the yellow centers later, much easier to deal with.

Absolutely wonderful. I'd love to make one of these, but afraid I don't have the patience to complete it.

That is a beautiful quilt -- and what a special thing for your coworker to have you finish something that was started by her dear mother.
