I'm not one to suggest anything bc I can't do any of it (except S/D and xhch) but I picture echoing the scallops from the applique to the outer edge. Perhaps even in the wide border from the applique to the watercolor piece. I don't have a clue how one would quilt the watercolor. This is no help whatsoever, but it was fun dreaming.

Thanks Gail, have been thinking of echo quilting and will have a go at the weekend and see how I do. Think the heart in the middle will be echoed once inside and outside and thats it, I think :D :D

That's OK, Granny. Alyssa may be able to teach you a lot about the computer, but I'd bet you can surely teach her a lot about that sewing machine. Right? We all have our gifts.

What a lucky granddaughter. You did a beautiful job. I have always loved the watercolor effect just not willing to do that much precise piecing.

Oh no its not precise piecing, its easy with the kit. You lay the already cut 2" squares on the fusible gird design all marked out for you. You place your pieces a bit like a jigsaw. Press to make all the squares stick. Turn the quilt over and fold where the lines on the gird are. Do a 1/4" seam down each one, then do the same across the quilt. DONE.
Look at Whims.com, they have some really easy and gorgeous designs.
