That is amazing! Did you create this pattern yourself, or did you find it (or even pieces and parts of it) somewhere? I would love to make something like this, but could never just create those applique shapes myself without a template. Could you share your process? If you created it yourself, would you be interested in selling the pattern?

    Thanks,

Your idea to start with an interesting children's book is pure genius. Your quilt is a work of art with expression and life.

You created a wonderful quilt, antylu. Just think about all of the times your granddaughter will read to Waylon, pointing out the different animals, etc and telling him about his great grandmother. You really created something very special.

Lovely quilting. I like your fabric choices of teals and grays. The animals will be a hit with your new GGS. Congrats!

Hi Suzanne; I am not sure of the way to reply so will try this; I sketched pictures off the cover of book for owl and woodpecker; sized them to what I needed; saw a similar quilt with the other animals somewhere on internet and sketched and sized them; used different grays and just sort of drew lines where I wanted them to meet etc. It wasn't hard at all; I did put the expressions on the animals; if you wish you may copy mine; maybe use different color in place of the teals? Blue would be nice for boy too.
