Bear with me, this is a bit of a story. Our nephew, Brandon, was the primary care taker for his mother during her fight with MS. He took care of her for almost twenty years. He went to a community college and got a 2 year degree in computer sciences, but that was many years ago. My husband and I always wondered how Brandon would be able to move on with his life when his mother was gone. She passed away 3 years ago. Within a few months Brandon had a job, (he'd never had a paying job before) as a driver of a transport bus for people needing help to get to doctor appointments, shopping, etc. We were so happy for him. Then he started dating a co-worker, Stacy. We were, again, so happy for him. Earlier this year they became engaged, we were thrilled for him. Last month they were married, I can't tell you how over the moon happy his whole family is! Stacy is a wonderful woman, they make the perfect couple. When we found out about the engagement I was putting this quilt together from scraps and stack and whack leftovers from a quilt I'd made in 2013. Brandon has always been very interested in my quiltmaking, he even went to a quilt show in the town where he lived so he could send pictures to me. I knew how much he would appreciate a quilt for a wedding gift, and I was right, they both loved it. In fact, he'd told Stacy that he hoped I would make them a quilt, so it's a good thing I did, I think he would have been very disappointed if we'd given them a toaster! It was such a joy to be able to celebrate their marriage, and to give them a gift from my heart.
