Great idea using jeans for binding. It will really hold up well to 'boy usage' and so will last for a very long time. Good thing to keep grandma close while growing up.

Thank you everyone for your kind words

RuthiesRetreat3 - - my sister's name is Ruth. made me smile when I saw your post

Ellen 1 - please help me understand what you call "quilt a little heavy" I would like to do all that I can to help this hold up. I will be putting flannel on the back and use Warm Company's Warm and Plush batting

I appreciate your input

I am empathetic about the loss of your sister. I also lost my only sister to cancer. Though it has been 22 years, I still miss her. I think the making of memory quilts for her grandchildren will bring peace and hopefully inner joy. Your sister would have loved your generosity. Just think about one day at a time-that is all God gives you in your walk of life.

I join the rest of these folks, so sorry for you and her other loved ones. They will love these quilts.

So sorry for the loss of your sister. Her grandson will love to cuddle in this quilt for a long time, I'm sure.

Meyert, I'm so sorry you lost your sister. It must be hard to do this but you are doing a great thing for her grands.
