I love it when everything is blanketed with snow. I mean rain. It looks so calm and peaceful.

It is 20 to 6 AM Monday morning! I have plans to go fabric shopping with my bff today (friends for over 55 years) and I woke up to about 2-3" of snow. The "white" rain! Maybe that's where they got the shampoo from! "Use new White Rain tonight and tomorrow your hair will be sunshine bright." Now where the heck did that come from??????? Getting old is so darn much fun! These things I come up with amaze even me sometimes. Seriously, though, it wasn't very much when you consider that 1" of rain is equal to 12" of snow! I don't like snow on the road - am not in the mood for any driving accident!

I will go, we will have a blast and stop for lunch and gab, have some Show and Tell Time. I am bringing all my fat quarters from the January Weight Loss Challenge. I have a plan to make a table runner and matching napkins and am so excited to show her them. I have them all in a separate "shoe box" and try to decide exactly what the pattern will be. So, all of you who sent me a fat quarter, thank you, thank you, thank you. The looking, planning and deciding is the most fun of all. When I finish, I will deck out our table and send you a picture. The only sad thing is I will be so svelte that I won't be able to sit at the table for fear of putting on a pound or two. Only kidding!

I am ready for Spring too. It used to be that the first robin was the harbinger of Spring. Now we have some real dummy robins that have decided to stay in a tree across the alley from us that have berries or some kind of fruit on them and the darn robins sit there and eat the berries and after the frost, freeze, snow, sleet, sneet and whatever else Minnesota offers up in the Winter, these whatevers start to turn into an alcoholic tidbit and the darn robins get themselves snockered and fall off the branches. They don't hurt themselves, but it is hilarious to watch. There are no berries or whatever they are left on the tree, so I am assuming Spring is just around the corner. So we don't listen for the first doodle-oo of the robin in the Spring and have the neighbors out looking for where that sound came from. They are here and have been doddle-ooing all winter.

I guess that keeps us sane throughout the winter, eh?

So we have two more weeks of high school tournaments (hockey and basketball) and then it should be Spring for sure.
