It is looking great and will be like getting a hug from Dad when they wrap up in their quilts. Can you use the button/button hole plackets as binding? If you cut them off the shirt with about 1/4 inch of the fabric still attached, you could sew the remaining 1/4 to the front or back of the quilt (depending on how you like to bind) and flip the placket over the edge to have a nice finished placket edge to hand stitch down. The cuffs you could use on the back to write your label on and hand stitch it on when the quilt is finished.

Very nice and the pockets are a nice touch. They will love having shirts their Dad use to wear.

Love it - esp with the random pockets. I've used my late ex's shirts for a couple quilts for the grandchildren- and I love how they turned out. I felt so bad when he passed before he was a grandpa. (I still have enough to do a pocket quilt I have in mind and maybe a quilt for my single son, but am slow getting things done!)

I love your idea of making the shirts into quilts, and I love that you added the pockets. Nice job, and what great memories these quilts represent.
