I found an amazing feedsack quilt recently at a thrift store. I have no clue how to wash it - it is heavy when it is dry, I cannot imagine how heavy it would be when wet. I should post a picture of it.

maybe you should make a call to the thrift shop and let them know. They probably didn't think about the sun - only wanted to get as many "lookers" and offers as possible.

Both of these quilts are old and I wanted to bring them home but the items in the window are in a silent auction style. I couldn't hardly stand to see them hanging where the sun for a month was gonna be beating on them ruining them.
I thought they were both beautiful!!

They are not open til tuesday. But to be honest I don't know if she will listen. I will talk to the employee that I chat with from time to time.

I know I'm an odd ball, but I don't see the beauty in a ragged quilt. Yes, I can see what it was, in it's time, but it would never cross my mind to purchase something like that. I like new things. I always say 'the only old thing I like is my husband'.

I can see the beauty but don't have the space or resources to give them the care they need. Unless they has sentimental value (made by a relative, etc.) I have to admire them and hope someone else will give them a good home.
