I love the bargello, but it is to much for the panel, becauese my eye is drawn to the bargello. The colors go beautiful with it though.

Love both parts, see what it would look like with a strip of light next to the black border, might pull it forward and create a separation, the dark to me makes it look like a background piece instead of the centerpiece, will make a difference with the 4 pc to bring the birds out.
Good luck, great colors :)

Thank you everyone for your comments. This is hard.I am trying to accent the pheasant panels and not over whelm them. I am making this quilt for the Pheasants Forever Benefit auction. So it has to be appealing to alot of people. I am just stuck on ideas for now.

How about making borders using the flying geese units? It's easy to use a lot of different colors in them.

I also think it's too much. I'm typing now and can't remember already what the panel was. I do suffer from CRS - but, the Bargello I think, takes away from the panel. They're both beautiful colors, but too much together. Maybe if you used less bargello and put an ivory or black wide strip in between the panel and the bargello it would work. Keep laying out different options - you know what they say - it will talk to you. It will jump out as "the one" when you get the right combination going. Can't wait to see it done. No matter what you do, it's going to be beautiful.

I think if you put only half of the bardello panel on each side, and put a 4 or 5" wide blue border around the pheasant panel, that would really pull the panel forward. Then the bardello could be the outside border. So it would be panel, black, blue then bardello. And then I would bind it with the black or one of the darker colors.

I think it takes away from the panel, I would use something more solid in color..or even 2 colors, a light and a dark.

I think the bargello detracts from the pheasant panels because it seems really big and busy in comparison. The pheasant panel is overwhelmed.

The bargello would be an awesome backing for the pheasants, though.
I agree. I think the bargello is a little too busy for the pheasant.

I agree. I thin both the bargello and the pheasant panel are beautiful in their own right, but they shouldn't have to compete.
