This is a great thread, full of ideas . . .

I found fabric I think DD will like, so I used some for a hanging towel topper, some napkins, and I'll make some matching potholders.

I'm making a yo-yo elf for DSonIL's BD so he can instigate elf-capades with DGD.

    I'm knitting some shopping bags...and more potholders...http://www.pacificfabrics.com/blog/2...y-useful-pies/

Also some cross stitch ornaments ... maybe some knit slippers for DGD ...

Knit hats with matching scarves (found a pattern I really like).

What I need is time to get back to my quilts!

I've bookmarked a few different casserole covers on this board & that's what I'll be making.

For the family back east we ordered some musical ornaments that light up. They will be mailed to the oldest girl and she will distribute them to everyone. The bags and bows came with the set of five from QVC. We ordered them during the christmas in july special.

Last year I made table runners for them all and they LOVED them. They were all different for each personality.

The family here will get sweaters and home sewn wallets. I will use the quilter's wallet pattern for the girls and a fold over type for the guys. Little sarah will get a kitty purse like the one I donated to charity this year and showed on the board, pj's and toys.

Shoot, I have no idea this year. I sometimes feel that my family is getting tired of pot holders, towels, runners and of course they all have quilts I made.

    Anybody else feel this way??

I have a lunch bunch I get together with and last year I made mug wraps and filled the coffee mugs with pencils, finger nail files, paper sissors, just small inexpensive things. I was just looking at the site with free purse patterns and found a zipper change purse I think I will make. Looks easy and if they don't like it they can give them away. Oh, ya, last year I gave them a small credit card holder. Told them if they didn't want them to put a gift card in it and give it to someone. I don't have family to make things for anymore and I still like to make small things for x-mas. I hope they like the things I make but I get more fun out of making them and giving them away. What happens after that, I don't really care.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I am making a quilt for DD and her boyfriend, plus holiday pillowcases. I will be making "Spicy Swirl" in holiday colors for lots of the other people on my list. 50 pair (so far I have 45 pair done) of pillow cases for the Indian reservation near here and raspberry jam. No ideas yet for Mom or Dad.

For the kids' teachers I will be making some quilted or sewn baskets (I haven't decided which tutorial to use yet) and fill them with some school supplies or edibles depending on how well I know the teacher...
For family, probably table runners, placemats or wall hangings. For my immediate family I'm hoping to make them each a quilt. Yeah, I know. That probably won't happen! I try to make my quilts double sided so that will be 6 tops to make, not 3..!
