The center portion reminds me of the "No Diamonds in the Sky" pattern.

Sure does! ;-) Just stick the stars in the larger blank squares.

I have to say, though, the color placement/border treatment in the op is really quite brilliant.

It sure is beautiful! I hope someone finds the whole pattern. Maybe it was an original creation though.

Why do you need a whole pattern if you can see and find the smaller individual blocks?
