I'll have to check out the book. I am doing them by sewing a square on both sides of the middle, cutting them apart, then doing that again with the two HSTs to make the QSTs. Is there a different way to do it?

All the blocks are done and I've started sewing them into the 4 block corner sections. I STILL have to do the hand applique on some of the blocks!! I would be done by now if not for that.

Making the HST and the QST, I layer my strips out, the first one facing up then oposite color facing down, to as many layers as you are comfortable with, I then cut my squares, and then do the diagonal cut or cuts depending on if it is QST or HST. THen when they go tot he machine, you just peel the first tow off, they are already matched up (sometimes they need to be a little straightened depending on how they were moved etc) and sew then together. I don't need to draw a center line or stop and cut pieces apart. I then just need to snip them apart as I do them in a long line and then press. I have tried a few other ways and find for me that this is the fasted,

This block is GREAT  Like the others, I wouldn't have noticed the 'mistake' if you hadn't pointed it out. And it DEFINTELY won't show on the finished quilt.

I've been wondering where you've been - haven't seen a posting for a while. Glad you're back! Or maybe I missed something - which is entirely possible! See - nobody's perfect
