I just got the emboidery part for my machine a little over a month ago and I have just started using it. I can already tell I need a smaller hoop. I would like to know if this one will work on my machine: http://www.berninausa.com/product_de...9-i74-sUS.html

I would ask the dealer here but there is a language barrier and a bit of a hassle so I figured I would try on here first.

    Thanks!

I wish I could help you with an answer, but I will be happy to call my dealer tomorrow (not open today) and ask the question for you.

This hoop came with my embroidery module, but i've never used it. I always use the larger hoop. If you're doing something small, just hoop the stabilizer and then tape, spray baste or pin the smaller piece to the stabilizer. It'll work just fine. Done it many times.

My LQS has a monthly emboidery "club.". If it weren't for that, I don't think I could have figured it out. It was a requested Christmas gift, and it had me in tears after about an hour. It's a great addition to my sewing machine, but not user friendly at all!

I have the 640 but in my opinion, this tiny hoop you will rarely use. Catrancher is right. I do it too. You will get more use from the 4x4 hoop than this tiny one.

Esqmommy might know the answer to this. I know she has that machine, just don't know if she has the embroidery module. Send her a message to see. The other thing you can do is search for Bernina 440 and read through those threads to see who has this machine. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! The problem I am having is that the hoop is just too big to do embroidery like over the chest on little boys shirts and like baby onesies. I got a crash course on the basics of the program but I don't think they even offer classes here on it like they do in the states. Even in they do, I wouldn't understand what they are saying, lol!

I do believe it will work as I called my dealer one time on getting one. I have the 440. It was very expensive so I never purchased it. I will also check on Tuesday for you. My LQS is closed tomorrow also!
