I really like the first one and downloaded the pattern. I have lots of fabric that is not is FQ's. Can you give me the measurement of the very first square. I can take from there. smile :?: :?: :D
This pattern is based on layer cakes, so 10" by 10" squares. The way they do it in the tutorial creates 16.5" blocks (16" finished). I just made half-sqare-triangles using 5" by 5" squares and arranged them as they did. I like the look of the smaller block (and my mistakes aren't as obvious either :lol: )

I love both of these! The first one is a traditional block, but the fabrics give it a modern edge. Very cool!
