This is a paper pieced pattern from the Quilter's Cache. I think I may be hooked on paper piecing now--easier than I thought! The pattern is called "Silly Chicken", but I named her Wiki-Wiki because she went together pretty fast!

I love paper piecing. I'm working on a crazy quilt that is foundation pieced. The foundation doesn't have to be removed like paper does.

No, Country Quilter--that little eye wasn't planned, believe me! Totally beginner's luck! I laughed when I saw it; as I was finishing up the piecing I was still puzzling about how I was going to make an eye. Embroider? Button? Turns out Chickie had a plan all along!

that's one cool chick! Where ever did you find that fabric with a chickenwire design. I have been brainstorming Ideas on how to create that look! Is it print or embroidery?

Is this your first project on paper piecing? It really looks good. Is this part of a quilt, or the "Lone Rooster". I like the chicken wire fabric.

Wiki-wiki was my first try at paper piecing; I figured I'd better try a pattern I liked so I'd stick to it! That chicken wire fabric was a scrap remnant I found in Williams AZ last fall. Wasn't ever certain of when I'd use it until The Chickie.

Ruth, you're giving me ideas. The Lone Rooster may be next!

*** I was able to locate the fabric on-line! The chicken wire is from Timeless Treasures fabrics--the pattern is "Hen" :D It's a slightly more bent wire look than Moda, and it has a shiny look on the wire twists ***
