Thanks for all the nice words. To answer a few questions.....No I did not make it so it splits and opens two ways like curtains. I plan on only using it in the winter to keep out the cold. Yes it does contain batting and the back is window curtain lining. The sun does not show through this bay window. What you see is simply daylight. This pattern is from the book French Braids. It took almost a year to complete because of working full time. The backing fabric/lining was terrible to work with and I would not attempt using it again. It stretched as I was stitching in the ditch and had to repin every seam after stitching. If I had it to do over, I would just use regular quilting cotton for the backing.

Great idea, is it backed and quilted, does it have batting? I have just the window for it.

I always think these quilts look like stained glass windows because of the way the colors radiate. This is a fantastic use of this gorgeous pattern, truly one of a kind. I think you're a genius!

Love the colors and the pattern. Makes it look like the sun is shining through the window! Should make the room feel cozy and warmer!
