I really like it!!! Love all the different fabrics, would be fun if they were from family clothes and you could reminise (?). I love the quilting you did on the blocks too! The blocks pattern looks fairly simple--is there a name for them? Or maybe what size each small block and the final block is?

Hi Pollytink-

i like your your idea about the clothing -would work well as a memory quilt - Dad's plaid shirts and that blouse I loved so much in the fifth grade, etc.
the block is a variation of the Ohio Star. The block size is 9". My center patch was cut at 3.5". The corners were made from 2 pair (light & medium) of 4" squares, made into HST units and trimmed down to 3.5".
The hourglass or star point units were made from 2 pair (light & medium/dark) 4.25" squares, made into quarter square units and trimmed down to 3.5".

Thank no you all for your very nice words. I'm going to get the binding on this weekend.

Your "misfits" certainly fit well together. It has such a homey, vintage feel. I like it a lot. The quilting is beautiful.
