    WIP autumn beauty

I was in the middle of several other projects when I fell and hurt my wrist AGAIN. Since I can't do the handwork on my girls with flowers blocks (7 completed, 7 appliqued only, 6 to go) nor can I finish the quilting on the 3 partly quilted lap quilts for DH to give to the rehab hospital, I decided to tackle something from my WAD list. All of the backgrounds will be med-dark sutumn fabrics with brighter foregrounds. Fortunately, I seem to have everything I need in my stash.

The colors and fabrics, AND the pattern are gorgeous! Is this paper pieced?

So sorry to hear you hurt your wrist again. Hope its recovery is a speedy one. Very colorful and cheerful blolcks. You managed to find a way to do something constructive and creative while your wrist is healing, that is so rewarding.

Sorry you hurt your wrist again. It's just instinctive to throw your hands out when you fall. I find at my age, I don't bounce as well as I used to.

I love your spirit...there's always something you can do even when hurt or in pain. In fact I have chronic pain due to arthritis and staying busy with my creations helps me forget about the pain for the time that I am completely engrossed in what I am doing. I love the colors and can hardly wait to see the finished product...even if it takes longer.

Hi QM, so sorry for your second injury. Hope you recover quickly. If I lived closer, I'd come over with wine, cookies and chocolate and we could commiserate. I'm in a splint, trying to get carpal tunnel syndrome to calm down without surgery. To say it's cramping my quilting style is an understatement. In the meantime, we can still enjoy the QB, shopping for new fabric and auditioning colors/chosing patterns from what we already have. This too shall pass!

Those are awesome. Reminds me of Edward Scissorhands. You can call this one Bright and Bold Scissorhands.
The one who dies with the most fabric wins.

MarieHughey, that is my situation. My therapy is quilting. Fortunately, my DH knows and appreciates that fact.

I now have most the the blocks ready to add the outer ring. I will need 20 blocks for my DDiL's lap quilt.
