I love the pink background. The first pictures make it a rally dark quilt with the black and reds but when you put that background with it it changes the whole dynamics of the quilt. Love it!!! Great job!!!

Thanks for your kind comments. She has seen a picture of the star only, and loved it. I think she will be very happy with it. The colors and zebra print were her choice, but she chose those after seeing a doll quilt I made with the same fabrics in the same pattern.

And the Bethlehem/Lone Star is not as hard as it looks...done with strip piecing, careful measuring and pinning while sewing. I was surprised with how it went together. The corner and side stars also went together fairly easily after I got comfortable with the Y seams...that took some practice, but once I got it, it went pretty well.
