I use Eleanor Burns Book, Quilt in a Day, Log Cabin Patterns. It gives great step by step directions and different layouts for your quilt. Tells you how many fabrics and how much to buy. I enjoy her books and they are very easy to follow. Maybe this book would help you. Happy quilting!

What a refreshing look to an old standard block. You've really got something going here. It's going to be even
prettier when you get them all pieced and set together.

Yummy!! I love these quilts, too, and have been saving fabrics to do one.

How about some more pics??? :-) Would love to watch your progress.

Since seeing Karla's floral log cabin blocks I have begun looking for smaller type florals in soft colors when I am in a fabric shop. I will buy a half yard or more if I really like it. So, in effect, I am beginning to build my stash for soft floral log cabins. It has thrown a whole new direction to my fabric shopping. And, I am enjoying the trip!
