Wore out the seam ripper on this one!

My advice will go against the group's. If the straight top bothers you now, it will always bother you and you'll wish that you had made the change. But: I would follow SewGarden's advice to pin the change on the quilt and live with it for a few days. You may find that the quilt is already perfect. I think it's beautiful and love the fact that there are no straight block lines - what a project this must have been!

Beautiful quilt -- your design and colors are wonderful!!! If the straight lines bother you (I know if something about a quilt bothers me I can't get past it), I would audition the changes first since sometimes I find I like the original way best. I have been arguing with a quilt for a couple of years -- it says it is a wall hanging and I say it is a lap quilt and so far nothing I have wanted to add looks good when I audition it.

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful and unique!!! I love it! In fact, I had not logged on and was just looking at posts, but I had to tell you how much I love it. Maybe when you step away from it and come back you will realize how great it is. I'm sure it felt so important to you because you made it for your friend and I know how perfect we want our work to be when it is for someone we care about. Take my word for it: it is fabulous.
