    I agree to STD for the blocks. How about a Greek key pattern in the borders?

    What kind of batting are you going to use? That would make a difference. Maybe try a google image search for twisted log cabin quilts and see who others have quilted them. There is a book out about this pattern too.

    I like the movement so I might start in the middle of each block and do a progressive spiral to give it more movement and then maybe crosshatch in the border.

    SID would probably be your best bet over fmq, Sometimes simple is just better for certain types of patterns
