I had to have this Jinny Byer kit. This is the birthing process so far.

Progress is steady. This didn't actually take as long as I thought.

Now, the pattern calls for mitered borders. I'm scared. I've never done mitered borders before. Actually, all my borders have been kind of haphazard, make-them-fit kind of borders. How can one be scared of fabric? :| But I am.

    That's looking great.
I've thought about ordering some of Jinny Byer's kits. Did she send you plenty of everything you needed? Just curious.

Haven't cut into the border fabric yet, but so far I have a strip of every fabric left and some extra blocks I didn't cut into.

So pretty! Mitered corners are no big deal. Just remember that you must square up after you sew thim on, and you will be OK. I am sure there are wonderful tutorials on here.

Oh that is gorgeous!! I love seeing the progress!!

I was scared the first time I tried mitered corners--and was shocked at how easy it was--well--more complicated for sure--but it went fine. I found a website that showed me step by step.

Now, THAT is a complex quilt! I'd have torn all my hair out by the time I got as far as you have! Beautiful!

I absolutely love this! It's going on my to-do list, and I am going to look for the pattern immediately. I appreciate your showing us sort of step-by-step, because it looks very intimidating, but you made it look at least possible.

What a fantastic job you are doing! I also really appreciate any of Jinny's designs/fabrics www.jinnybeyer.com I was fortunate to be able to attend one of her seminars in Carolina.....IF WE EVER WIN BIG ON THE LOTTO.....she's my dream "win" as far as quilters go!!!!!!!!!!! Well I can't seem to get her website to post as a link, so will let this be and you can search it out yourselves......

Oh, you have done such a beautiful job. I've seen this pattern and debated whether I should try it. Jinny Beyer sure is the master when it comes to using color.

Your quilt is stunning...I am really impressed. :-P :-P :-P
