Default An X-Blocks Sleeping Beauty Quilt....FOR ME!! :D

Earlier this year, when it was still cold out, I was making some lap quilts for friends through Facebook's "Pay It Forward" momentum. My husband saw all of these quilts and mentioned that with all these quilts flying out of the house, it would be nice to have one to cover up with on our own couch. That's when I realized, after 4 years of quilting quilts for many other people, I had never made a lap quilt for our couch. I had made a few large quilts for our bed and a few for our daughters' beds, but there was nothing for our couch.

So, here's one for our couch. We're doing our living room in earth tones, and I thought the turquoise would be a nice pop. The second picture is the backing fabric I picked out. Thanks for looking!

LOVE the backing fabric - the quilt is AWESOME BTW. Do you have any information for the fabric on the back? Absolutely beautiful.

    Thanks ~ Jane

Thanks! I'm not sure about the fabric. I think I bought it at Wal-Mart, but it might be a Joann's fabric.

It looks hard keeping the points of the diamonds correct. I like the turqouise, it just, "Pops". I love the backing also. Fine job...

Your quilt is beautiful. The backing fabric will make an absolutely awesome quilt. Aren't we lucky to have people remind us of the little things?

I love your quilt, I also love the brown and turquoise. Where can I find the pattern for this?

This pattern came from Patricia Pepe's book, "Once Upon A Time In X-Blocks Land" and was made with her X-Blocks template. I know that there's a way to make this quilt with just a normal ruler, but I don't know what that is, so I just used the template. Here's the link to the book: http://www.patriciapepe.com/patterns.html

So you two are like the shoemaker's kids, too? My DH is the same way... LOL! This is a beauty & I agree about the turquoise (& the backing fabric)... it really kicks it up a notch! I have an X ruler (& a pattern, I think... around here somewhere) but have yet to use it (the story of most of my rulers... LOL!). This makes me want to go drag it out. Thanks for the inspiration!
