Congratulations - a king size quilt can sometimes be intimidating, but one step at a time and before you know it, you're done. It's a really beautiful quilt and I'm sure you will enjoy it on your bed.

I will see if I can remember the size blocks I used I cut them a few weeks ago - I think it was 6 1/2 inch. I made up the pattern...but the falling charm quilt was my inspiration. I made the squares larger, and the strips smaller (I believe I used 2 inch strips). I used the 7 L design - which is the falling charms. I tried to use all of my fat qtrs pieces but using the smaller pieces for the border. I made a bunch of 2 inch squares left over which I will make pillow cases to match. I do need to go buy some matching fabric for the body of the pillow cases.

I think you made an excellent choice to quilt it yourself....turned out beautifully. Great colours.

It is a beautiful quilt. I have never heard of washing the quilt before binding it. Can you tell me why you do that? I would think it would get all out of square. I thought the binding was to hold it together and keep it square. Anxiously awaiting your rationale.
