Beautiful quilts. The newspaper one is such a fabulous idea. My husband writes for the newspaper, too, and I hay have to preserve some of his articles that way, too. What would you do if an article covered a whole page of the paper. It could be the center of the quilt, but how would you get it scanned and onto cloth? I am open for ideas. This might be for his June birthday if I can figure out how to do it. Thanks

fmhall, you might have to "edit" the bigger article or maybe "continue" it to another block. I rejected a few longer articles because I wanted to include as many as possible. I did learn that crazy quilts aren't as easy as they look. I had originally planned not to construct blocks, but just add the articles every-which-way with strips of red and black in between, but the articles would have had to be much shorter for that to work. Also, you can't see it in the picture, but using red thread I machine embroidered different embroidery stitches along the edges of all the strips in the traditional crazy quilt manner and meander quilted through the articles.
