When you tie a quilt, what do you use to tie with...embroidery thread, crochet thread, yarn or ribbon?

I think it is what ever you want. The tied ones that I have seen are mostly tied with yarn.

I've tied with embroidery floss, crochet thread and yarn. It just depended on what I had on hand at the moment.

There are some warnings about using yarn? on baby quilts. Something about it coming apart and babies eating it. I think it was yarn. Do a "search" on the topic and you will find lots of info.

I don't tie quilts but I prefer the look of embroidery thread.

yarn stays put. i tried embroidery thread on a king size and had to take them all out and use yarn. others have luck, I didn't.
