I did a blanket for my GS with lighthouses. I used the satin stitch in gold thread for all the LIGHTS in the light houses.

square knot with one extra tie and it won't come undone.

as pretty as ribbon can be, it will fray badly in most cases.

I always use 4-ply worsted yarn, tie 2 knots, and use a steel yarn needle. Good luck. I've tied many quilts.

I love tied quilts esp with 4oz wadding, very comforting, have used "wool",mixed fibres and crochet pearle.

I am making some quilts using double knit; for nursing homes and vet's. I need to tie them, I don't like how yarn fuzzes up after washing. I couldn't find Perle cotton , so got crochet thread. Hope this will work better than yarn when done.
