I AGREE---TIE WITH SQUARE KNOTS

One thing I do instead of "tying" is to drop the feed dogs on my sewing machine and set it on zig zag, the widest setting then pull the thread to the back. Seems to go fast.

I use embroidery or pearl thread and use 2 different colors, just for decoration.

I have always used yarn since thats how I was taught, however the perle cotton thread sounds interesting. Think I will buy some tonight as I have one to tie.
Thanks for all the suggestions

How do you tie it, mind always came untied?

distar2 07-24-2011 04:25 PM

i have tied with yarn, embroidery floss, and ribbon. it all depends on the look you want but i usually end up going back to the embroidery floss because you can get it in more colors, it doesn't fray or come untied like ribbon sometimes does and it's easier to pull through the quilt than yarn.
