I dont know what to do. My son picked out these for a quilt along with about 10 other fabrics. I've been putting off making the quilt because every time I try to cut these or iron them I get dizzy and sick feeling. So again this morning I decide to work on this quilt, I just finished ironing the white one and my eyes hurt and I feel just awful. Theres two more fabrics in this quilt he wants that do the same thing. Any suggestions on how to use these fabrics and not die in the process?

Ohhhh! Poor thing!
I can see where that would make your eyes go buggy. I bet it will be stunning when it's done! |
Those are great fabrics! What a quilt that will make!
Can you stand looking at the reverse side of the fabric? If yes, work as much as possible from the back side -- pressing, cutting, etc. |

I'm not sure what pattern you are using, but could you use solid black fabric between these or around them? That would let your eyes rest a little when you are piecing by giving you a "spacer" between the fabric patterns.
P.S.-----Those fabrics are really cool, though! |
Well why in the world didnt I think of ironing wrong side out....geesh...It must be the fabric frying my brain!

Wow!!!! It makes me whoozy too. Looks like it is moving.

LOL....there are a lot of quilts made with the "psycedlic" (sp) fabrics. I thing something no larger than a 5" pieced block, sashed with a lime, red, yellow...that would surely help to break it up some! good luck!

Narrow strips?

I have the same problem with fabrics doing that to me too. I seem to stay away from them if they play with my eyes. There is a casino I go to during the winter for bowling. They have carpet that does the same thing to me.
