What do you do with your charm packs?

I have a few charm packs, I buy them when I love a whole line, but can only afford the charm pack. I can never seem to break them open! They're not enough to use in a whole quilt, and to put them into a scrap quilt seems wasteful, cuz I have plenty of regular scraps. Plus they're so darn cute all piled up in my cabinet! What to do??!??! What do you do?

I use them to cut smaller pieces using my Go die cut machine. I like using precuts for my Go, takes less time then to cut the yardage to fit.

Look thru your packs and see if you can find a couple that 'play well' together for a larger quilt.
I like shadow quilts:

you can make the shadows larger or smaller to adjust the size of the quilt. You just need 2 additional fabrics, the same color, just make sure they have good contrast. You can also look into any of Pat Speth's Nickle Quilt books, where she uses charm packs.

I am also collecting a few charm packages. Have you searched Google for ideas??

Unfortunately, when they are sitting on a shelf, they are not like bunnies that will produce more of themselves. They are just collecting dust.

I think it is quite all right to just enjoy them just because you like them.

what do people "do" with acollection of toy cars or a collection of empty wooden spools?

Just enjoy them and give them a shake every week to rid of the dust.

I like Falling Charms. You can use the same fabric for all the strips to set off the charms.

I love to combine them with a solid white or cream and make half square triangles which can be arranged into multiple patterns for small quilts, table runners, placemats ect. I have even purchased my favorite colorway and pattern out of the collection in yardage and made throws.
This way it stretches one charm pattern collection.

I have made little girls' skirts in each child's favorite color.

I second Falling Charms. If you use one background fabric, it ties all the charms together even if they are not charm packages.
